Hello from Chico!

Hey everyone. 

I've been in Chico for about 4 days now and it pretty great!  I have some really amazing people in my class coming from all over the world. There are 2 families and 5 singles in the Crossroads school, but we have joined forces with the DTS which has 7 people in it. 

My roommate is from Sweden. She's already awesome! :)   

School is good. We have just started with orientation. And get to know you stuff, so haven't learned anything to interesting. I'll keep you posted on that area. 

Financially I am doing great!  I believe I am about half way supported for my out reach phase($2000). And I'm so excited to announce that we will be going to South Africa for our outreach. It will be fun learning about the country and culture.

I'm not enough!

Never Enough.

Sometimes my heart screams at the thought of leaving. Not because I don’t want to go, or because I’m not soooo excited, but because of the people I leave behind.  

I have a lot of people in my life. People I love more then life itself.  People I fear for. People I feel for; If I could take care of everyone’s problems and solve them all, I would. 

In James 1 it tells us to consider it a great gift when tests and challenges come from all sides. Under pressure your faith is forced into the open and it shows it’s true colors. It tells us to not run too quickly from our problems but to walk through them and learn and grow from them, so that we can become full and complete. 

I know that God places different challenges and trials in everyone’s life and for me to try to take those away from someone would mean a missed opportunity for their growth. I hate to see my people in pain, but I believe that it is more beneficial for them if I learn to help them walk through that pain, instead of taking the pain from them. 

Something that God has been teaching me this week, is that I will never be enough.  I can do everything in my power and give my whole life to help others, but at the end of the day it’s not my job to be enough. It’s His job.  There will never be fulfillment in a person’s life without the presence of the Holy Spirit.  At the end of the day my only job is to lay them into Gods hands. My love for these people wont diminish or fade, but I will never be enough, and I don’t want to be enough. God is soooo much more then enough.

YWAM changes!!! They are good!!! :)

So, things change. While preparing my heart for YWAM I was struck with a continuous question mark In my mind. When it was voice by a few of my friends and family members I started really considering what was going on.

I have always had the gifting and personality of leader and "mama" anytime I'm in a group of people. I sooo love this position, but I believe that what I'm needing right now is an opportunity to grow and become a stronger follower of Jesus Christ. I would also love to grow in my leadership and "mama-ship" skills and abilities. 

No I know I would grow in the regular DPS program, when I learned about a version for the "older" age group I really became excited. I believe this will be huge for my life and I am so ready to be the "kid" on the team. Even though as my sister pointed out I will still be leading because that's who I am. 

Do to this change, all my donations from the Reading location will not be transferred to the Chico base in Chico California where God willing I will start my training in September 3.

DTS donations! And new base locations!!!

Hello everyone, 

After lots of prayer and consideration, I decided to switch my DTS to a different base. This base has a DTS is for an older age group. This will give me an opportunity to grow and be stretched and step out of my comfort zone. 

Due to the switch of bases online donations do not go to the correct spot. At this time please do not submit an online donation. If you have already submitted an online donation it will be refunded directly to me, and I will send it into the new location. The new location that I am going to Chico California.

Through Christ Jesus, the law of the spirit of life set us free from the law of sin and death! Romans 8:2

Be a risk taker. Be authentic. Be in the world and bring transformation. Don’t do the “safe” thing. 

You cannot avoid risk.  Living is risky.  Loving is a risky.  Life is risky, life is terminal. Death is the ultimate statistic. One out of one, we all die.  There should be nothing risk averse to a Christian life. We have nothing to fear. It is for freedom that Christ set us free. We don’t get through life safely just to fall into death safely. We beg God for signs and miracles. There’s no need in our safe little world where God needs to do a miracle. Let’s walk across the street to the place where God is allowed to perform miracles. There is a world of people around us who are enslaved. On our watch, as we sit in our safe little Churches with walls built up to keep us safe, there are over 27 million slaves struggling to survive. ON OUR WATCH. What are we doing? Where is the salt? Where is the light? Where is the justice? 

Are we afraid of those people on the outside interrupting our little safe worlds. What do we have to fear? What can man do to us? Church has confused compassion with emotion.  I don’t care if you can cry during the motivational story. Get out, roll your sleeves up and lets get to work. 

We have not been created a product of time but of eternity.  The life we are living right now is not practice. It’s the real thing. It’s the only life you have to live on this earth.  How are you making a difference? How are you effecting the eternity? Are you planting seeds? Are you willing to put your life on the line for one more person to find Christ? Are you willing to give it all? HE did. He gave it all.  

We separate ourselves from the world under the “Be in the world but not of it.” How do you translate that? We view ourselves as “holy” “set apart” because we don’t slap our bodies with tattoos and piercings. (well, maybe you don’t J) But our gossip track and rumor mill is running full throttle.  We are hurting people left and right but somehow we have found an excuse for our actions.  We have flip this scripture upside down and become apart of the world but its “ok” because we aren’t living in it. Oooops. That’s no good. 

I don’t want to be apart of this world. But I know that I have been sent into this world to be a life witness of the Holy Father.  I have been set apart and I have been created to proclaim the name of Jesus Christ.  I have been redeemed and created brand new and I am being sent to bring this freedom and redemption to others.
